Stress?

I just compiled all of my syllabi for my classes in addition to my sorority calendar, and I'm pretty sure I just freaked myself out by doing that. AHH.

But the good news is that I was able to get one of two dates for this event coming up for the sorority called "Crush" (it's right after Valentine's day) - we're allowed to bring two dates. we go to a club basically and have fun. :) i'm excited. The two guys who I originally wanted to take are both busy with previous commitments, so then I asked a friend from one of my classes last year and he's available and wants to go. yay! there was that guy who i was talking to who lives a few floors above me (he did the same last year) and I asked him if he was free that night. of course, he has company coming in for almost a week, and it's over that weekend. boo. but one out of two isn't bad, right?

Songs + Sorority stress?

So. Songs.

I put all the Glee music I have into a playlist on iTunes, and i put that playlist in shuffle and repeat. Because I'm just that much of a gleek. sorry.

anyway, there's a song that just came up, called "Can't Fight This Feeling" and Finn sings it (on the show he's in the shower). But a reason that I bring this particular song up is that there's a line from it that wowman/magicman/dumbass (he shall be known as dumbass, sorry kids.) quoted, and it made me sad. :( Why? because he wrote this quote on a card that he gave me with flowers on our one month anniversary. I had to listen to it though, because i love glee and i need to stop associating songs with certain people/dumbasses.

anyway. Sorority time!
so we have this event right after valentines day this year (since valentine's day is on a monday) called Crush (it happens every year) where we all go to a club and basically party. :) each sister/new member (like myself) is allowed to bring two dates. I asked two boys from my floor who i know i would have fun with if they wanted to come, and... they both have previous commitments. :( poop. So i asked my friend from college writing in the fall of freshman year if he was free, and then followed up if wanted to go (as friends) to crush. he said "totz!" so i'm really excited that i have one date. i still need the other. i did ask another friend of mine if he was free, but he has a friend staying over for like, a week and is giving his guest a tour. :(

but one out of two ain't bad, don't you think?

peace out y'all. :D

New year - new goals

Last school year (2009-2010), i was blogging just about my experiences as a freshman from a small suburban town.

back in 2010 - wowman/magic man dumped me for a girl who now lives on our floor (yeah, he moved onto my floor at the beginning of sophomore year, dumped me in october, and then started dating this girl right after we broke up. isn't that just FANTASTIC!?!?!)

This year, even though I missed the fall semester (see above for brief explanation), I'm writing about my experiences as a sorority girl.

Yeah, you read that correctly. I'm in a sorority now.

Who would've thought, me, a sorority girl? It's insane.

I'm not going to lie to you, I wasn't 100% for being a sorority girl. My mom kind of kept hinting at the idea, so I decided, what the hell?

Going through the whole pledging process here was ridiculous though, you rush all 7 panhellic sororities. That was all in one day - AH! Anyway, Sunday we were invited back to a maximum of four. Of course, I was only invited back to one and instantly felt insecure. I asked myself "what's wrong with me?" "why didn't the other sororities like me?" "did i do anything wrong?" but whatever. it's done with. I went to said sorority and talked to the girls. They were pretty chill - I really liked them. So the next day, Monday (this was over MLK weekend, sorry for not clarifying earlier) we were invited back to a maximum of two for preference parties, and I got invited back to my one party - so I knew that they wanted me to join.

It was a pretty strange experience, kind of like speed dating. I'm still getting to know the sisters in the sorority - I'm officially inducted as a new member though, so i get to wear this pin all the time. It's nice to see familiar faces on campus, and we went to a club the first saturday I was a member. it was a good time. this past weekend we went to a basketball game and then partied at a sister's apartment, and many people wanted me to go - even though I had plans to go off campus for dinner and all. I'm kind of glad I didn't go though, I got to spend some time with one of my new close friends, and my roommate and our mutual friends. We ended up playing loaded questions until.... 2 am? yeah, that sounds right. XP

But my new close friend, she's pretty awesome. She's not affiliated with any sorority and makes fun of me for being involved with one, but that's kind of how our friendship works. we just make fun of each other and we're goofy and strange and talk about anything and everything. it's a breath of fresh air, really, and I'm questioning why we didn't hang out earlier. She asks me that question every once in a while, but we just enjoy each other's company and our friendship. :)

anyway, i've been trying to figure out if i want to live on campus, off campus, and what i want to do about an internship and all that jazz. it's a fun time, really. trying to figure out what i want to do with the rest of my life, AHH!

i also have a good amount of work to do this week, so i'm kind of wondering why i decided to blog again, lol.

peace out!
