What a day, what a day.

So first off, i did not sleep well last night (it was quite unfortunate). I had my college writing class (nothing too terrible) and then went back to the dorm in the torrential downpour. I changed into dry clothing for my next class, where it was actually hot out and I didn't need to wear my sneakers to avoid puddles. Lame. After calculus I met up with a friend from high school in a coffee lounge and we chatted and caught up. It was good to see her, considering i haven't seen her since I moved in here.

This is where the fun begins. We went to TDR with the guys from the other dorm, Wow-man sat next to me and tool was kind of down the table more. Anyway, we watched Broken Lizard (the creators of Beerfest and Super Troopers) do some standup and some skits (they were SUPER inappropriate but funny). When that was done, we figured out our game plan for the night (which got switched up). We planned on getting a shuttle and going to see "Inglorious Bastards" at a theater near by. We missed the time of course, but we then decided to hit up the mall and play Lap tag. That's when we forgot that the grass was wet from the torrential downpour earlier. But a few people did race around the Washington Monument around midnight (people must have thought we were nuts or something) and walked around downtown singing random songs. :D it was a load of fun.

While transporting (aka the metro and the shuttle), I was sitting next to Wow-man, and we started talking some more. A little flirting was involved too... but hey, it happens. Tool is not interested in a relationship, and that's his problem. If Wow-man likes me, hey, I'll go out with him, see how things go. He calls me by my first initial, and no one else calls me that. I kind of like it. We talked about pets and siblings and all of that. Yeah, it was a grand old time. I think I'm starting to like Wow-man a bit, considering I changed my outfit and then obsessed over my hair for 20-30 minutes or so. It was bad.

ANYWAY, back @ campus (safe and sound after the 10-20 minute walk), we decided to play scrabble. NOT A GOOD IDEA WHEN EVERYONE IS TIRED. We all made short words and got trapped in corners and stuff. Wow-man and I were a team, and apparently he hasn't played scrabble before (idk how that happens) but he called me the "scrabble genius" and "the queen of scrabble".

Something I didn't know about Wow-man is that he does magic tricks. Well, he did, and he's trying to get back into the swing of things.

Anyway, it is almost 4 in the morning now, so I'm calling it a night. I'll inform you of my adventures with LAUNDRY when I get around to it (hopefully sooner rather than later, I sorted it out today).

Texts that throw me off

Last night Tool and his roommate came over to the party dorm and played Catchphrase with a bunch of peps from my floor. Tool's roommate, who i will now refer to as "Wowman" (because he plays World of Warcraft, otherwise known as "WoW") has been texting me a heck of a lot recently, and i'm thinking, oh man, if something occurs here, i will no longer be allowed into their room. EVER.

I got a few texts from Wowman yesterday and i'm confused about them. I can't tell if there's an underlying message or if it's flirting through text messages or what.

Wowman: whatsup b?

first off, no one calls me B. my first name starts with a B, but still, I introduce myself with my full name. I don't know if i like it or not. I think it's growing on me...

me: did you two make it back okay?
Wowman: No I was sexually assaulted by an asian hooker and tool (not putting his real name in here) was beaten by a gang of angry spider monkeys. :(
me: oh shit. you should've called me, i would've come to the rescue. XP (i will admit this is kind of flirty)
no response from Wowman.
me: Goodnight. and if you need an escort next time you walk back to your dorm, just let me know. XP
Wowman: They made me do... terrible things. Good night B

i have to give him some credit, i wouldn't have thought of anything that original if someone asked me if i was okay.

i'm very befuddled about the whole thing.

Update: ESPN guy!

I've been emailing this guy who works for ESPN, and he said that if I worked (on a volunteer basis of course) then I would be a PA, working in the production truck and doing random tasks that need to be done. I REALLY want to see what it's like at a football game, behind the scenes and all. Call time is at noon though, and I have a class @ 12:45. The most I could work is 2 games, one in october and one after the term's over, so if I talk to my teacher in advance, he MIGHT let me slide *crosses fingers*. I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve, waiting and hoping for something awesome to happen the next day. Wish me luck, please oh please!!

August 27th (wait, it's still August?)

So today I had three classes (it's the same schedule as Monday). Understanding Media was great, but I should arrive there at 8:15 instead of 8:30 cause we cover stuff that we don't in class. this means I have to wake up even EARLIER. ugh. But my teacher's awesome. She has connections with a guy who works with ESPN and asked for whoever was interested to see her after class. I had to go to my anthropology class, but I quickly gave her my name and she sent me an email by the time I got back from my second class. Hooray! So i emailed the ESPN guy, wondering what i would do with that.

Anyway, my anthro class was boring. My hand started cramping up because of all the writing i was quickly trying to do. Bringing my laptop next time to see if it's any better.

Lunch, nothing special. Yay food.

Went to Understanding Music. We went around and introduced ourselves to the class and talked about our past musical experience, what music we like/don't like, where we're from, major, and all that whatnot. Then my teacher divided us up into groups with people who are "music geniuses" and who aren't. Somehow, I got a group of 5 guys and myself. They all live on south side. Looks like I'll be walking a lot around exam time. yay... but there is a cute sophomore in my class, so that makes my group a bit better. :)

The cupcakes that my roommates brought back were DELICIOUS and scrumptious. Very tasty.

I didn't sleep well last night, maybe it was from the cupcakes. But whatever. It happens, you know.

Tonight, i'm probably gonna be doing more work and such and then goofing off because i don't have work due til Monday. Wahoo. :P

What a Wednesday

Wednesdays I only have an hour of Calculus, which is actually kind of nice. I actually understood most of the material that was being covered. Hooray!! =D Anyway, I've been working on my homework that's due at 8:30 tomorrow morning and it's LONG. Ugh! Save me.

While I was at class, my roommates went to Georgetown to do some shopping. Yay shopping. They went to this amazing cupcake place, called Georgetown Cupcake, and they brought back cupcakes for us to share. Yay sharing! We also got a doorstop (FINALLY) instead of using the case of water that I brought.

Went to lunch with Tool's roommate and my floormates. nothing interesting really happened, but lunch is lunch.

I also got a package today from my parents. YAY stuff that I forgot to bring! My cousin also sent me pictures of her newborn daughter. They are now hanging above my bed. I LOVE my little cousins, they are sooo adorable! Gotta love small children.

I need to get back to work. I just needed a break from writing all of this stuff for my Understanding Media class. Wahoo.

day 2 classes down

class wasn't actually that bad today. college writing should be interesting, there were 3 other people from my area in the class. woohoo! =P

then calculus (UGH) i met this girl who lives in the next hall over who never took calculus before and i was helping her a bit today. i'm glad i was helpful, but we need a bigger study group.

got stuff to make brownies w/ my roomies. making them tomorrow. also did a chunk of homework for math. sucked. ah well. went and played "Lap tag" with some floor mates and had a blast. we bonded, and got a little personal... tee hee. grabbed some dinner with some floormates who were playing, it was actually quite tasty.

we bothered tool and his roomie too. that was decent. but tool wants to hook up* and i'm like... will it be awkward? whatever. we'll see what goes down.

*note: i use the term "hook up" when two people make out. thought you should know.

2nd day of classes

Today I have college writing at 11:30ish and then I have calculus (kill me now) at 2ish. Fun times, eh?

I woke up at 9ish, my roommates got up because they had 9:55 classes, but I grabbed a shower and now feel refreshed and awake. I didn't sleep too well last night, but I'm sure I'll adjust eventually.

First Day of Class!

First day of classes, fun times eh? hoh yeah.

I had Understanding Media and Culture: Human Mirror in the morning. Then had a lunch break and had Understanding Music.

There's a girl who I met in the anthropology class who's also in the Understanding Media class. She's pretty cool. She likes Moulin Rouge like I do. Hooray for someone who also appreciates Moulin Rouge's amazing-ness. We went to Tenleytown for a little bit after our last class was over. I got a marbleized composition book that I need for Understanding Media, and she was looking for a planner. No luck in the 3 different stores we went to (the container store, CVS, and whole foods -why they'd have it i don't know). Oh well. we got to know each other better.

In Understanding Media, I went with my floor-mate who is also a communications major. Hooray. So knowing someone in one of my classes helped. I actually knew a guy from orientation in my anthropology class and another floor-mate was in my Understanding Music class. it helps to know people. Seriously. it makes it easier.

All my teachers/professors seem pretty cool. So far, so good. The only issue i have is that I can't find the work that I need to know for Understanding Media (it's supposed to be online, but it's NOT).

I realized that UM can be Understanding Media or Understanding Music. Wow. I have mad skill. Anyway, it took me an hour to print out 13 pages for an article for Culture: the Human Mirror. The article took me just as long to read and highlight. sucks.

I got an email from my Understanding Media professor and she sent everyone our first assignment. Basically i have to record my interaction with media for 24 hours. Whoopie, right? XP

take me out to the ball game..

went to a Nationals game today. had fun.
stayed up worrying about tool.
things aren't looking too good for him.

class tomorrow.

shortest blog post ever.

Party on Garth

Went to my first official frat party. the frat brothers were real gentlemen, they not only gave rides to the party, they gave sober rides BACK to campus. It was really exciting to see that they get you back to campus safely.

I saw my OL from orientation, he mixed a rum and coke for me. i didn't actually drink any of it. wahoo. Had a cup of beer that i gave to tool's roommate. i'm not going to lie, I did try a few different things (beer, jumble/jungle juice [poison punch], rum and coke) but i didn't like any of it. It was scary to see one of my friends getting drunk and getting wasted. He had a beer or two, some punch, and played 2 games of beer pong. i think the second round of beer pong did it for him. He was super tipsy and then got sick. we took him outside where he was being puke-y and ugh, it sucked. I'm worried about him, he couldn't walk by himself, let alone with two people to a car.

UPDATE: Tool just got transported to the hospital. His roommate's going with him. The worst part of it is that he is 17, and since he's under 18, the hospital has to call his parents. at 1 in the morning. I'm praying that everything will be okay.
